NEIGHBORS UNITED
Neighbors United, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is a group of volunteers with a goal to make a difference in the lives of families in need, one at a time! Our mission is to be the greatest organization, going to the greatest lengths to take care of those in the greatest profession who make the greatest sacrifice.
Joe Warne, a firefighter from Macomb Township, MI and President of Neighbors United had his passion ignited to help those in his own profession. He kept hearing of brothers and sisters that were fighting their cancer and after research, learned that occupational cancer was now the leading cause of death for firefighters
SHRINER'S
In 1922, fueled by their desire to make a difference in the world, Shriners founded their own philanthropy, Shriners Hospitals for Children, now commonly known as Shriners Children's. Over the past century, it has become one of the largest pediatric sub-specialty healthcare systems in the world with locations in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
An exclusive benefit as a Shriner is the opportunity to serve in several meaningful and mission critical roles in support of Shriners Children's.
REVIVING BASEBALL
IN INNER CITIES (RBI)
RBI is a youth baseball program operated by Major League Baseball. The program offers young people from underserved and diverse communities the opportunity to play softball and baseball. Many of these children and teens don’t have the money to buy gear or afford playing on a travel team.
RED, USA is an approved nonprofit with the MLB RBI program, and sponsored a team in the Detroit PAL league at the site of the former Tiger Stadium.
VETS RETURNING HOME
The goal of Vets Returning Home is simple: to end chronic homelessness among veterans in our communities. Our mission is complex, requiring more than putting a roof over the veterans’ heads. It requires an approach that address the “total veteran” and his needs and making sure they succeed after they are transitioned.
We are a volunteer operated 11,000 square foot facility with 43 beds and commercial kitchen. 6 of the 43 beds are dedicated to females only. We provide a stable and sober living environment to veterans in crisis.
